100 National Tourist Sites of Bulgaria

Yettel / Bulgarian Tourist Union

Project Overview

The "100 National Tourist Sites of Bulgaria" programme was created by the Bulgarian Tourist Union (BTS) in 1966. Yettel partnered with BTS to digitize it, bringing the passport and stamp-collecting experience into the Yettel app.

As one of the illustrators on the project, I created artwork for animated stories about some of the country's most significant cultural, historical, and natural landmarks.

The traditional paper passport became a digital one: users discover the sites through their phones, collect digital stamps, and explore additional audio and animated stories. My role was to turn historical facts into visual narratives, making imagery that works both as a standalone illustration and as part of an animated sequence.

It was a chance to approach Bulgaria's heritage not as documentary representation but as visual storytelling, finding imaginative ways to bring places, events, and landscapes to life for a contemporary audience.
